Photo Story Workshop was founded by Heidi Good Boncana as a platform for youth to learn the language of photography and visual storytelling to express themselves, amplify voice, and build agency from an early age.
Heidi has been a professional documentary photographer for nearly 20 years. A former photo editor for UNICEF and Doctors Without Borders, she has designed and led community-based youth photo and child rights workshops in the US and Africa, including UNICEF‘s ‘EYE SEE’ project for marginalized children in Mali (photos above) with SONY Japan and recently through the Spring of 2019 with 1st and 2nd graders at City Neighbors Hamilton Public Charter School in Baltimore.
